Ye and Ty Dolla $ign's 'VULTURES 2' to Release This Week
After several scheduled launch dates passed, their sophomore project together is now scheduled to drop ahead of their performances in South Korea and Taiwan.
Update: ¥$, the duo of Ye and Ty Dolla $ign, dropped VULTURES back in February as the first album of a trilogy from the two. While VULTURES 2 and 3 were originally scheduled to drop in March and April respectively, various delays have left both projects unreleased. However, according to an update on the YEEZY website, VULTURES 2 is now set to arrive on August 2, ahead of the duo’s listening events in South Korea and Taiwan. Previously, Ye was contemplating releasing VULTURES 2 for $20 USD as an exclusive to the YEEZY website, leaving it off of streaming platforms initially. The artist has not confirmed his final rollout plans just yet so stay tuned for more info as there’s sure to be plenty of updates in the coming days.
Original Story: After a short delay, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign‘s VULTURES Volume 2 finally has an official release date.
Ye himself revealed the news during his recent appearance on Justin LaBoy’s The Download podcast, confirming that Volume 2 will be dropping on May 3. The pair’s sophomore joint effort, which follows up February’s Volume 1, was initially set to drop on March 8, while its successor — the finale of their ongoing album trilogy — was scheduled for April 5. The release date for their third album was not revealed.
Volume 2 is expected to feature an album cover that sees Ty pay homage to his incarcerated brother Jabreal Muhammad, also known as Big TC. Muhammad is currently serving a life sentence for a murder both the brothers maintain he didn’t commit. In early March, Ye shared that the record will not be available on streaming platforms, but this remains to be seen.
