Swatch x OMEGA Unveil the Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase MoonSwatch
In anticipating this year’s first super moon.
Swatch and OMEGA are returning with a new MoonSwatch offering. This time, the two companies are expanding their Mission to the Moonphase lineup with a blue variant, aptly named Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase.
The inaugural Mission To the Moonphase timepiece sported Snoopy and Woodstock on the moonphase display and an all-white makeover. This design was reprised again in the following Moonphase MoonSwatch release, which arrived in a matte-black colorway.
Design-wise, the Super Blue Moonphase timepiece deviates from its predecessors’ playful approach. This is obvious in its moonphase indicator, as the Snoopy and Woodstock have been replaced with UV-ink multi-shaded moons.
Encased in a blue Bioceramic build with a matching crown and pushers, the reference spotlights a dark blue bezel that echoes the palette of its spacesuit-ready VELCRO® strap. The silver-opaline dial is embellished with contrasting details that alternate from dark to light blue. includes lumed indices and hands.
Per usual, the 42mm-wide reference is powered by a quartz movement equipped with a chronograph and moonphase functionalities. Over on the caseback, a blue-hued moon print graces the battery cover.
From August 1 – 19, it will be shoppable via select Swatch stores worldwide. Priced at £270 GBP, the Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase MoonSwatch is set to welcome this year’s first super moon and blue full moon on August 19. For the list of participating stores, visit Swatch’s website.
