"Chrome" Covers the Nike Air Peg 2K5
A fresh finish for the recently-reintroduced runner.
Earlier this year, Nike brought back the Air Pegasus 2005 — refreshing it with a new name: the Air Peg 2K5. The sneaker was last spotted as part of a COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus collaboration in October of 2023, where it sported monochromatic colorways of black and white. From there, it made an appearance in the Swoosh’s first SNKRS Showcase event, landing in the “Retro Collection” in five colorways.
Now, with the Air Peg 2K5 back on shelves, a new “Chrome” iteration of the sneaker has been presented. The new colorway starts with a loose gauge mesh at the base in gray, covering it with shimmering “Chrome” overlays that are joined by matching Swooshes outlined in black at each side of the shoe. An off-white hue is present at the tongue, laces, lining and the Air-backed midsole while black rounds out the look at the rubber outsole.
At the time of writing, Nike has not revealed when this “Chrome” color arrangement of the Air Peg 2K5 will be landing on shelves. Stay tuned for updates, including the unveiling of additional Air Peg 2K5 colorways, as we currently expect this version of the sneaker to land on shelves later this year via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $160 USD.
