Malbon and New Balance Bring 90s Flavor to the Golf Course
Teaming up for their biggest collection yet.
A collaboration at least three years in the making, Malbon Golf and New Balance have teamed up on past occasions, but never quite like this. In 2021, the brands delivered a made-for-golf version of the NB 997. Last year, they linked to release the Heritage, a model that bore resemblance to inline New Balance offerings. And now in April of 2024, the lifestyle golf label and the beloved American footwear brand have revealed their biggest project yet, encompassing co-branded polos, mock necks, pants, shorts, hats and three colorways of the 550 Golf.

If Masters week was any indication, Malbon is becoming a brand for people who aren’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers. The brand’s Championship Vest drew the ire of Augusta National officials enough so that they asked Malbon ambassador Jason Day to remove it.
The Malbon x New Balance collection isn’t as controversial, but it does have a nice mixture of pieces that are suited for both formal and informal golf settings. In collaborating with a brand like New Balance, whose popularity over the five years has coincided with the recycling of 80s and 90s styles, Malbon can continue to attract the attention of fashion and streetwear enthusiasts everywhere.

Constructed of lightweight poly/nylon, these are far from your typical chino golf shorts, yet the addition of belt loops means you might just get away with wearing them at a country club. With a built in compression lining though, these will more likely find use running errands around town or to the gym.
The Malbon x New Balance mock neck could be your go-to layering piece this spring, as its cotton jersey build will make it perfect for wearing underneath a vest, windbreaker or polo. It’s offered in the same four colors as the shorts.
