Hypebeans to debut its first standalone café in Hong Kong
Hypebeans, a communal destination for serving quality coffee, is excited to expand its café concept to Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Inspired by newsstands of New York City, the 220 square feet standalone café embodies a lifestyle of bringing people together where new ideas and perspectives are exchanged, and community and culture are formed. To mark its launch, the café will introduce an exclusive flavored coffee and treats, as well as merchandise during the opening period. Located at Shop 15A, Fashion Walk, the grand opening of the new Hypebeans café is set for November 16.
Offering a communal space around literature, the café is a reflection of the vibrant cultural scene that takes place at magazine stalls and newsstands. It offers a niche and carefully curated selection of magazines, catered for those looking for a quick read, as well as to those who collect magazines. Beyond a café, it is a gathering place for like-minded individuals to explore and exchange new ideas, offering them a space to read, drink and eat. Inspired by elements of the new café, Hypebeans will release a limited edition T-shirt that features playful prints of the words coffee, donuts, t-shirts, magazines and music.
The café offers world renowned barista Sawada Hiroshi’s menu inspired by Hong Kong-style cafés, presenting traditional beverages crafted with a unique blend of coffee beans. Its signature drinks include the barista’s specialty Forest Matcha Latte and Ovaltine Espresso. During the opening period, Hypebeans will be introducing exclusive drinks and treats. Its in-house baristas will be presenting an exclusive drink: the Hojicha Latte, which features the rich and roasted aroma of Hojicha powder sourced from Japan, complemented with a hint of dark chocolate and a creamy texture.
