HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE FW24 Reveals “Creative Session” with Ronan Bouroullec
Bouroullec’s artwork is seen on pleated sets, coats and shirts.
HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE has released its Fall/Winter 2024 collection titled “Immersed in the Wilds of Creativity.” The collection is a collaboration, renamed a “Creative Session” between ISSEY MIYAKE and designer/artist Ronan Bouroullec. Exploring how garments can evolve from concept to realization, the collection finds new ways to utilize Bouroullec’s artwork in fashion.
The RB_DRAWING PLEATS takes Bouroullec’s series “Drawing” and reworks it to use with the brand’s staple pleated fabric. The garments utilize the white space of the artwork as the base of the garment with the drawing becoming the print. Swooping pleated sets stay true to the brand’s renowned line as the unconventional silhouettes, draped carefully, flow effortlessly.
Bouroullec’s signature paintings are painstakingly silkscreen printed on the RB_DRAWING COAT. The outerwear comes in a coat and poncho style, each featuring a different painting. The two styles are simplistic with an oversized silhouette and asymmetrical openings.
The RB_DRAWING PRESS SHIRT features Bouroullec’s artwork printed on the tops using pressurizing and heating. The white button-down shirt and zip-up jacket each feature a different painting unconventionally placed while a pleated scarf adds a colorful flair to any look.
The first series of items from the FW24 collaborative project will be released on August 5 in the UK. More items will launch in October and November 2024. You can view the full collection above.
