Big Sean Announces New Album 'Better Me Than You,' Unveils "Yes"
After a version of his sixth studio project leaked online.
Big Sean has made his next move; after an iteration of his imminent sixth studio project was leaked online earlier this week – in a play of revenge by a Ye fan in response to Big Sean’s supposed shot at Ye in his recent “On the Radar” freestyle – the rapper has confirmed that his next project is, in fact, en route. Entitled Better Me Than You, Sean Don dropped off the trailer for the highly anticipated record as well as its first official single “Yes.”
While the trailer doesn’t reveal much and rather leans into its visual composition, Sean followed up to confirm its release date of August 9.
“Imma just start droppin’ this new music before they leak it all. BIG SEAN x THE ALCHEMIST soon,” he wrote in an Instagram caption.
And he did – revealing the first official single from the album, “Yes.” Clocking in at three-and-a-half minutes long, the high-energy track is filled with fiery bars and a catchy chorus:
“When they tried to tell me, ‘No,’ I said, ‘No, motherf*cker, yes’ (Yes) / Yes (Huh), yes (Huh), yes (Huh), yes (Huh) / Yes (Huh), yes (Huh), yes (Huh), yes (Huh) / Yes (Tss), yes (Huh), yes (Huh).”
Stream “Yes” on Spotify and Apple Music now and stay tuned to Hypebeast for updates on Big Sean’s new releases.
